Nearly every school community in the nation here has felt the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. At Kaiser Permanente Thriving Schools, we understand that those who work in schools and the families who rely on schools for daily learning, support, and sustenance and continue to face multiple challenges in the current school year. We want you to know that we are here to support you.

The resources below have been developed to support school leaders and communities in navigating the coronavirus, and the resulting effects of the pandemic as things reopen. They aim to provide safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments for all. We are grateful to our many partner organizations working in school health who have been instrumental in developing and curating these resources with us. Together we are working to elevate the importance of healthy schools as the foundation for health in our communities.

School Health Priorities and Needs Research Report

Learnings from research conducted in the early weeks of the pandemic to understand school health challenges, needs, and priorities for school reopenings.

In May 2020, Kaiser Permanente teamed with Alliance for a Healthier Generation and other national school health partners to survey educators across the nation about overall readiness to return to learning for the upcoming school year. Educators shared their concerns.
