With March being National Nutrition Month, it’s a great time to bring more attention to healthy eating habits and making sure you’re getting the right combination of foods throughout the day.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Choose My Plate website is chock full of great resources to help you, your family and your classroom visualize what it means to eat a healthy, balanced diet. The ChooseMyPlate graphic is helpful for making sure your plate has the right portion of fruits, vegetables, grains, protein, and dairy.
Want to see how this might play out at the dinner table? Download these posters, in English and Spanish, developed by Kaiser Permanente. The posters give a good visual for how to serve a meal’s worth of balanced, nutritious and well-proportioned foods.
We also encourage you to make use of these posters and flyers shared previously. Developed by the same team of registered nutrition experts, they can help educate others about the quantities of foods that add up to 100 calories. You might be surprised!
